The JAWA League for July, 2010 was held Sunday afternoon. Twenty-three members participated in the Duel Tournament, and a new champion was crowned! Several events had first-time winners. Congratulations to all this month's winners, and thanks to Link and Zu for hosting this month's JAWA League!

Events and Winners:

The Duel Tournament:

Qualifying Round Results:

Valis Elensar defeated 89T
Cole defeated Duster-Man
Shadow defeated Griffin
Wolfy defeated Z
Steha-Hasta defeated Vultax
Zu defeated Ronny
Geek defeated Sensei

First Round Results:

Just Another Guy defeated Valis
Zarrn defeated Kobra
TC defeated Cole
Shadow defeated Proetic
Squirrel defeated Wolfy
Steha defeated PalaToran
Link defeated Zu
Pearl defeated Geek

Second Round Results:

Guy defeated Zarrn
TC defeated Shadow
Squirrel defeated Steha
Link defeated Pearl

Semifinal Round:

TC defeated Guy
Squirrel defeated Link

Final Match:

Squirrel defeated TC to become this month's Tournament Champion, and earned the right to face Helena for the JAWA Championship!



The JAWA Championship:

It looked to be a tough match, but Helena jumped out to a commanding lead. Squirrel fought back, landing a devastating blow, and in a final clash emerged the winner with 19 hit points remaining, to claim the championship!



FFA Events:

Singles Heaven: Link

Dual Heaven: Link

Staff Heaven: Helena

Melee Heaven: Duster

Freestyle Lightsaber Event: Cole



The Tag-Team Tournament:

Qualifying Round:

Cole & Squirrel defeated Pearl, fighting without a partner
Proetic & SoulHound defeated Helena & Duster

First Round:

Cole & Squirrel defeated Wolfy & Niner
Ronny & Vultax defeated Link & Griffin
Zarrn & TC defeated Guy & Kobra
Zu & Sensei defeated Proetic & SoulHound

Second Round:

Cole & Squirrel defeated Ronny & Vultax
Zu & Sensei defeated Zarrn & TC

Final Match:

Cole & Squirrel defeated Zu & Sensei



(JAWA) Darts: cancelled this month.



Watch Out for that Sniper!

It was a very close contest this month, as twenty participants vied to survive the longest, and prevent their opponents from doing likewise! The score of the day was turned in by Helena, at 13 seconds, followed by Link, a close second at 12, and Zu in third with 10. Thanks to Griffin for keeping time!



Merc War:

The Merc War began slowly, but one by one the combatants were picked off, leaving Kobra, Link, and Zu! Kobra fell first, the victim of an explosive showdown with Link, who racked up four kills, and seemed the preëmptive favourite to defeat Zu, who had no kills to that point.

Around and around the final two circled, each looking for an opportunity to surprise and overcome their rival. The final battle was furious, and culminated in a close victory for Link!



Team Free-for-All:

The teams and captains for the Team Free-for-All event were:

The Blue Team: Griffin (C), Zu, Guy, TC, Duster, & Spider-Cow

The Red Team: Niner (C), Fox, Kobra, Helena, Zarrn, SoulHound, & PalaToran

Final Score: Blue 100, Red 80

The Blue team jumped out to a commanding lead, and never relinquished it, as team hits and kills doomed the Red team to second place.

Best League I've been in! Thank you so much Link and all Council members! 1st time ever in Jawa I got the most kills in a TFFA. I finally won a heaven event. The heaven events r so fun!

Awesome league guys. There were very few moments where people had to be shushed, it went quickly and efficiently as well with maximum fun! Thank you to the host(s) and awesome job overall! (random note but I saw that this time when people joined everyone greeted them with whispers not public chat :L . So yet another lesson learned and a job well done guys!)
